One hour and 45 minutes. That is the length of time the Conchs and fans had to wait extra for tip off. Elite Academy, a small charter school from Fort Lauderdale, arrived late to the game this past Monday night. The match up was supposed to begin at 6 p.m. sharp but to do traffic and miscommunication, the game didn’t start until 7:45.
Despite a late start, the Conchs weren’t faltered. Lead by Alvin Howard, Ty Hughes and Ziyah Jefferson, Key West was able to take care of business and pick up the team’s second straight victory 58-26. Their next challenge will come on December 5th at home as Key West plays St. Brendan High in a critical District matchup.
