About Me

Spread the word

Hello! My name is Jason Beede and I am currently studying journalism at the University of Central Florida. When I’m not in class or studying, I work as a multimedia sports journalist covering the UCF Knights for UCF 247Sports and as a freelance photo journalist covering high school sports for the Orlando Sentinel.  In addition, I work as a freelance photographer for Florida Runners. Previously, I’ve worked for FloridaHSFootball.com covering high school football in the area and have served as an intern for the Knightline Podcast discussing UCF sports.  And, I’ve had the opportunity to cover several different events ranging from the 2017 NFL Pro Bowl to a Huey Lewis and the News concert.

Although still in school, I feel privileged to have had the chance to already work in the news and sports industry and to use and sharpen my skills in sports writing, photography, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Photoshop.

I am originally from Key West, Florida and covered the Key West Conchs as the editor in chief of the high school newspaper, The Snapper. Occasionally, I do freelance work for the Key West local newspaper, The Citizen.  One of my top goals in life is to secure a professional career in sports journalism.  However, my greatest accomplishment so far has been achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 2013.
